This was an incident that happened during the year 1988 to Sri B. Venkataraman who was working as a school teacher in Tiruvannamalai. One day during the month of December, all of a sudden, Sri Venkataraman experienced excruciating back pain along with pain in his hips and legs also. He was unable to move on his own. The Office staffs immediately helped him into the office Jeep and dropped him at home. Then Sri.Venkatraman took one cycle rickshaw and slowly reached Bhagwan's Sannathi Street house. He narrated all his health problems to Swami. Swami asked him, "When are you going to Chennai for treatment?'' Venkataraman said he had requested two office staff members to accompany him and had planned to take the 1:30 A.M. bus that night. By 07:00 A.M,next day, Vekatraman reached the house of his brother Sri. B. Narayanan, Finance advisor, VHS Medical Centre, Adayar. After seeing his brother, Venkatraman shed copious tears unable to bear his condition and the brother said, "Don't worry. you are inside the hospital campus and we will start the treatment in 2 hours.I will call the Senior Doctor." But Venkatraman emphatically said, "My Gurunathar will take care of me and my family. Yesterday Bhagawan said, "Soon you will come back home and meet this beggar. Appa Arul. (Father's grace) ! So no problem for me." By 10:00 A.M., Sri Venkataraman was physically examined by leading doctors Dr. C.V. Krishnaswamy, M.D., and Dr. N.S. Murali, M.S. They also conducted some tests and an X-ray, and concluded that Venkataraman was suffering from a severe disc collapse." They immediately prescribed some medicines. From the next day onwards, he took traction treatment for the next 15 days. On the 17th day, he met both the doctors. They advised, "From now on, you should not lift more than 2 liters of water, should not wash clothes, should not cycle to the office, and that your office chair should be changed.'' They also advised him to avoid any strain, including walking. Next they prescribed medicines for 30 days and asked him to come for review after 30 days. On the 18th day, Sri Venkatraman started from Chennai and reached Tiruvannamalai. As usual, after getting down at the Periyar statue, Sri Venkatraman went straight to Bhagawan's Sannathi Street house and narrated everything that had happened until that point. Bhagawan did not say anything but continuously smoked. Next He asked Venkatraman to go home and come back the next evening, as usual, with Jathi Malli (a string of Jasmin flowers). This was the usual practice of Venkatraman. That Friday, after completing office work, Venkataraman went to the Sannathi Street house to meet Swami. Swami said, "Venkatraman, tomorrow Saturday morning you do Giri pradhakshina of Arunachaleswara and straight away come here." Venkatraman immediately said "YES" - This is FAITH - NO SECOND THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT DOCTORS SAID! Venkatraman started from his home for Giri pradhakshina on Satur-day early morning at 04:30 A.M. He walked slowly up to Ramanashram, but after that, he couldn't walk anymore and started experiencing mild pain. By chanting the Name 'Yogi Ramsuratkumar,' he continued to move forward, alternating between sitting and walking. In this manner, he reached Bhagawan's home at 10:30 A.M. Bhagawan opened the door and said his favourable and sweet word, "COME ON, MY FRIEND." But Venkatraman was very tired and he immediately sat on the floor. Bhagwan offered him "POT WATER" in a coloured aluminium tumbler. After ten minutes Bhagawan gave him one teaspoon of dry ginger powder. Now Venkatraman felt better and started talking to Swami. At 11:30 A.M., Bhagawan told him to start for home. He said, "Venkatraman, from Monday onwards, you can go to the office by bicycle. Stop your medicines from today, lift water, wash clothes, and do all your personal work, just as you wish." Then He laughed His inimitable laughter! Venkatraman asked Swami slowly one question. "Shall I stop medicine, Swami?" For that, Bhagawan replied, "MARUNDHU KODUTHACHU(Medicine has been given)." Sri. Venkatraman reached home, stopped medicine and started leading his normal life! THIS IS FAITH. OUR GURU WILL TAKE CARE OF US BECAUSE HE IS MONITORING EVERY MINUTE OF OUR LIFE. GURU KNOWS BETTER. HE WILL DO THE BEST FOR US. HE KNOWS WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO GIVE IT TO US. - from Saranagatam, Jan. 2025, -- |
