Darshan de 7 h.- Un certain nombre de personnes attend à l'entrée, dont Mickaël qui, peut-être, pensait qu'il allait pouvoir venir à la hutte, mais non. Dans la hutte se trouvent : Justice Arunachalam, le docteur Ramanathan, Lee Lozowick, Krishna, Chelvadorai, Srinivasan, deux autres hommes, une femme que je ne connais pas, Jayanthi, Raji etc... Aum Sri Ram, puis lecture de Swami Ramdas. Père fait lire cinq fois la première phrase du chapitre 3, selon laquelle la répétition du nom est la sadhana des sadhanas : " Ramdas peut vous dire à partir de son expérience personnelle qu'il n'y a pas de sadhana plus facile, plus grande, plus sûre et plus efficace pour atteindre Dieu que la répétition du glorieux Nom de Dieu. " Puis c'est la distribution des hibiscus. Il bénit Justice, son frère, et Lee. Puis vient mon tour. Alors que j'avance les mains pour recevoir l'hibiscus, Yogiji dit alors : - Yogiji : Qu'est-ce que Krishna Carcelle a dit lorsqu'il a offert des fruits à ce mendiant quand il est arrivé ? ... - Ma Devaki : Voici des fruits d'un de vos jardins en France. Père sourit, prend ma main, met la fleur dedans et, dès la réponse à la première question demande : - Yogiji : Et quel est le titre de la première chose
qu'il a écrite ? Alors soudain Père devient très sérieux et me regarde droit dans les yeux, que je baisse, répétant en moi AUM SRI RAM JAI RAM JAI JAI RAM. Puis je vais reprendre ma place. Il bénit aussi Chelvadorai. A Srinivasan, il demande s'il est satisfait de son job à Bangalore. Puis c'est le petit déjeuner. D'abord ce qui reste du gâteau d'anniversaire. Lorsque tout le monde est servi, Yogiji demande de distribuer jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y en ait plus. Le petit déjeuner par lui-même n'est servi qu'après. Après que tout le monde se soit lavé les mains, la discussion est amenée par Yogiji sur l'ashram de Lee à Tiruvannamalai...Voici, de manière résumée, ce que dit Yogiji : " C'est ce mendiant qui a suggéré à Lee le terrain pour l'ashram, mais cela ne venait pas de l'intérieur. " Un peu plus tard, il dira qu'il a fait la suggestion à Rangarajan et que Rangarajan a sauté (jump) là-dessus. " Tout le monde a connu beaucoup de peine, des allers-retours
à Madras, Delhi, Bombay, etc... par Raghu. Quand il a
été clair que cela n'était pas possible,
Mr Lee a réclamé son argent, mais il n'a pas été
possible de le lui retourner. Des allers-retours à Delhi,
Bombay, etc..., cela a pris des mois ! Combien, Mani ? Yogiji ajoute un moment : " Nous ne voulons pas aller devant la Cour " Et Yogiji répète plusieurs fois ce que les gens ont fait pour cet ashram. Et une troisième fois : " Ce mendiant ne veut plus jamais, jamais, entendre parler de ce terrain. Mr Lee aura certainement des facilités pour créer un ashram en France. Peut-être Krishna pourra-t-il l'aider (tout le monde rit). Nous avons reçu une lettre de Krishna disant qu'il avait reçu une circulaire lui demandant de l'argent et qu'il a répondu que tout l'argent était parti pour le Ramnam (avec la fin de cette phrase il lève la main vers le ciel, pour montrer l'argent qui part, et sourit).... Ma Devaki lui rappelle qu'il veut peut-être passer les guirlandes avec lesquelles Justice Arunachalam les a décorés. Yogiji en donne alors une à Mani, une à Justice, une à son frère et une à Lee. Puis il donne le signal aux femmes de partir. Il se lève ensuite, dit à Mani de rester assis et parcourt la hutte en nous bénissant. Puis : " Mani, nous pouvons partir maintenant. " ......
Darshan de 7h.- Comme François le cameraman retourne demain en France, Yogiji lui permet de venir filmer dans la hutte. Nous lui disons qu'il ne doit pas filmer lorsque Yogiji a sa serviette verte. Aum Sri Ram, Ramdas (qui, justement, en parle...), hibiscus, petit déjeuner, de nouveau Aum Sri Ram. Puis les gens sortent et, pour la camera, Yogiji va bénir. Il se lève ensuite sans un mot et sort seul, alors-même que Mani est près de lui. Je sors juste derrière Lui et alors, bénédiction, je sens le parfum de fleurs ! Yogiji est à la voiture. Mani lui dit que Muttu voudrait aller au haut de la colline et qu'il en demande la permission. Yogiji répond que cela n'est pas nécessaire et qu'il doit " rester avec nous ". Alors que la voiture s'éloigne, je mets mon bras autour du cou de Muttu et lui dis : " Quel besoin d'aller là-bas quand le Seigneur est là ? " 8 Décembre
Darshan de 7 h.- Du côté hommes, à part Mani, il n'y a ce matin que Lee et Krishna.... Aum Sri Ram puis lecture de Swami Ramdas. Mais nous n'allons pas jusqu'à la fin du chapitre. Au passage : " He is everywhere ", Yogiji demande à Rajalakshmi d'arrêter, de se rappeler l'endroit et de mettre la marque . Au début de la lecture, je me dis : " Ah, quelle réponse aujourd'hui! ". La réponse est connue mais elle vient quand il faut : tout est Lui, le moindre mouvement. " His impulses, thoughts, words, everything is God ". Nous devons toujours avoir conscience de cela. Distribution des hibiscus, très rapide pour Mani et Lee. C'est mon tour et je vais vite aux pieds de Yogiji .... Puis, à un petit mouvement de sa tête, je sais que je dois regagner ma place. Le petit déjeuner a lieu aussitôt la distribution des hibiscus : " We can eat. ". Après que je me sois lavé les mains en dernier, il demande aux femmes de sortir et seule reste Jayanthi à qui il fait signe aussi de partir quelques instants après. Restent Lee et Krishna. ... C'est le silence. Puis j'entends : " Krishna ! ". J'ouvre les yeux. Yogiji va se lever. Je fonce comme un ressort. Il me donne la main. Je l'aide à se lever. Il remet alors sa couverture, me donne la main (gauche) puis se tient debout. Lee s'est mis à genoux à Ses pieds à un mètre de Lui. Yogiji lève la main à hauteur de la poitrine et la dirige vers lui,... Puis je le raccompagne à la voiture, mes yeux sont embués. Yogiji monte sur le marchepied qui a été avancé, s'arrête juste quelques secondes, puis tourne son regard vers moi. Je le regarde, je ne suis rien. Et il porte ma main à son front !!! et monte dans la voiture.
Aujourd'hui, le darshan a de nouveau lieu dans le réfectoire. L'attente se fait donc comme habituellement : les dévots sont dans l'allée qui longe l'ashram et les " privilégiés " sont en face du réfectoire. Mani appelle Lee. Tous les américains foncent. Comme je ne bouge pas, il appelle Krishna. Je suis les américains. Lee est en train de se prosterner au milieu, les américains occupent le premier rang. Je vais donc pour m'asseoir au deuxième rang quand Muttu et Yogi me font signe de m'asseoir au milieu sur la natte. Nous sommes donc tous les deux Lee au milieu. Aum Sri Ram. J'arrive à me concentrer et le monde s'en va ! Après quelque temps il appelle Muttu qui se rend près de lui. J'entends prononcer le nom de Krishna par Yogiji. Et effectivement Muttu vient me taper sur l'épaule puisque, comme d'habitude, j'ai les yeux fermés. Je me lève et Yogiji me montre la place pour chanter. Je chante et parviens très bien à me concentrer, très très bien. A un moment la pensée divague. Je cherche alors à visualiser Yogiji avec son regard perçant pour me remettre dans le droit chemin. Après plus d'une demi-heure, paf ! je reçois plein de flashes en pleine figure. Je me dis donc que Lee a dû être appelé près de Yogiji. Effectivement je les entends parler un peu. Quelque temps s'écoule encore puis : " Krishna ! " Je m'arrête et me tourne vers mon Père. Comme il semble me faire signe de retourner à ma place, je lui fais l'anjali ainsi qu'à Ma et vais en direction de ma place. J'ai fait deux pas quand Ma dit : " He is calling you ! " Je me retourne et vais à Yogiji, m'agenouillant et en anjali. Il prend mes mains et me tape sur l'épaule. " Thank you, Krishna. " Alors je pose mon front sur son genou et l'odeur de fleurs est immédiate. Il me bénit et je rejoins ma place. A la fin de sa bénédiction, Il me fait le visage perçant que je veux voir pour me corriger ! Puis il appelle la maman d'Armstrong et c'est le chant d'Arunachala Shiva. Je me sens nettoyé et mes lèvres prononcent le mantra toutes seules. Je me rappelle alors le texte de Swami Ramdas ce matin : nous devons sentir que c'est Dieu qui fait faire le moindre mouvement. Yogiji allume une nouvelle Charminar. Peut-être va-t-il bientôt se lever et bénir l'assistance comme il faisait avant que les américains arrivent ? Non. Deux livres Souvenir sont amenés et le cameraman français François Fronty est appelé. Il est particulièrement béni car il repart en France après le darshan et reçoit une part de régime de bananes des mains de Yogiji ainsi que trois autres fruits. Et il offre un gâteau à Yogiji. Puis d'autres personnes sont appelées, puis un swami auquel j'entends Ma Devaki demander en hindi : " Apka nam ? " Puis Yogiji demande une chanson aux soeurs de Sudama, puis nous appelle tous les deux Lee. Il remet une pomme à Lee, lève ses mains pour le bénir et dit : " My Father blesses you ! " Puis Yogiji prend mes mains que je tends pour recevoir la pomme. Il prend ma main droite et sept (trois ?) fois met la pomme dedans sans la lâcher et la retire, la remet, la retire, etc... et la lâche enfin à la troisième fois en me prenant les deux mains et en souriant et dit : " My Father blesses you ! " Il me regardera encore de son regard perçant à travers ses lunettes. Puis ce sont bientôt les Mangalam et Yogiji sort en donnant la main à Mani. ...

Darshan de 7 h.- A 7 heures, je vais vers Kannan qui s'excuse pour hier car il n'a pas pu venir. Il me dit qu'il n'a pas fini le discours et qu'il me donnera le texte à 9 heures lorsque je sortirai pour aller chercher des fleurs pour orner Yogiji. Krishna et Lee suivent la voiture à distance. Presque arrivé au niveau du réfectoire, Yogiji dit à Mani de faire venir les deux français. Presque tout est enregistré au magnétophone que je mets une nouvelle fois subrepticement en route. Une fois assis, Ma Devaki demande à Yogiji s'il veut lire la lettre de Lee . La réaction de Yogiji est comme celle d'un lion. " Il n'est pas question de parler de cette terre ". Ce qui est enregistré est difficilement audible. Il dit que leur argent doit par quelque manière que ce soit leur être rendu. Puis il dit : " Père ne veut pas, et ce que ne veut pas Père ", nous ne devons pas le faire. " Ce mendiant ne veut pas. Ce mendiant ne veut pas. " Après quelques instants de silence, il se tourne vers Ma Devaki et dit quelques mots... Puis : - " Krishna ! ". Je m'approche de Yogiji et suis, comme d'habitude, à genoux devant lui, en anjali. Ma Devaki lui donne un sac en plastique qui contient des choses. " Des vêtements de ce mendiant. Un ensemble. Il voudrait que tu les portes. " Puis Yogiji reparle à propos de cet ashram de Lee. Dans l'enregistrement, on peut entendre quelques bribes. Il faudrait passer du temps pour pouvoir tout comprendre. Voici ces bribes : - Mani : ..... samedi matin, ... Mr Lee doit partir pour Madras
... Yogi se tourne vers Rajalakshmi : " Aum Sri Ram ". Aum Sri Ram est entonné. Sept fois encore, pendant le chant, Yogiji prendra la parole, mais Rajalakshmi n'arrêtera le chant pendant quelque temps que rarement. - Mon Père ne veut pas .......... We are not going to .... Le chant couvre la voix et il n'est pas possible de comprendre. La seconde fois qu'il prend la parole, on entend juste sur la bande : " .... No question ... ". La troisième fois : " No question of ..... very sorry for all that....... My Father.... ". La quatrième fois : " ...... ce mendiant..... Tout est (de la faute ?) de ce mendiant........ l'ashram ...... seulement .... n'ont pu l'acheter. " Cette fois le chant s'est abaissé en volume depuis un moment. Mais, Père demeurant quelques instants silencieux, Rajalakshmi le rechante plus fort. Quand Yogiji reprend la parole, pour la cinquième fois, le chant se tait pratiquement. Que l'on fasse un crédit ... Puis le chant reprend. De nouveau Rajalakshmi le reprend plus fort. A la sixième intervention de Yogiji, Rajalakshmi ne baisse pas le ton. On entend juste sur la bande Yogiji dire " Thank you " à Mani. Yogi dira encore : - S'ils refusent, trouvez un autre moyen..... cet argent ..... ce mendiant. Ils ont passé assez de ...... Pas question de... " Mais, avant de réécouter la bande, les notes ont été prises dès la fin du darshan. Yogiji a dit notamment : " Des jours et des nuits ont été passées. Ce mendiant a fait une erreur. Mon Père ne veut pas, ce que mon Père ne veut pas, ce mendiant ne le veut pas. " Et aussi : "Il n'est pas question d'acheter ce terrain ". " Mani, fais tout pour que l'argent leur soit rendu. Et si cela n'est pas possible, alors trouve un autre moyen. Fais un prêt au nom de l'ashram et rends leur l'argent. " Puis c'est la lecture de Swami Ramdas, plus exactement la relecture du même passage ! " For thirty eight years ... " jusque " into the universal I : God. " . Et Yogiji dit à Rajalakshmi : " Put a mark. " Et c'est ensuite le silence et distribution des hibiscus. Yogiji me bénit de sa main. Ensuite il dit à Mani : - Yogiji : ...... Krishna Carcelleji. Donne-nous la nouvelle
qu'il est bien arrivé chez lui. Puis le repas est servi. " We can start ". Après le repas, Yogiji fait rechanter Aum Sri Ram. Puis il dit aux femmes : " You can pack ". Arrêt du chant, les femmes sortent. C'est ensuite le silence, puis : - Yogiji : Mr Lee pardonnera ce pécheur, et que le groupe qui est venu avec lui pardonne ce sale mendiant. Je suis désolé.. Peut-être mauvais est le ... pris par ce mendiant ... Puis il se lève tout seul, prend la main de Mani, nous dit : " Disperse " et sort. Nous suivons. Il bénit et me bénit. Je suis la voiture à distance jusqu'au moment où elle sort de l'ashram et reviens lentement lorsque Mani me rejoint et me demande s'il peut se joindre à moi. " Yogi était ce matin comme un lion ! "... Ce matin, Yogiji a encore répété : " Nous ne voulons pas aller devant la Cour ! " Tous deux Mani rejoignons Raji au réfectoire. Nous discutons encore de cela. Si le gouvernement refuse que des étrangers soit trustees, pourquoi donc Lee n'a-t-il pas dit : " Eh bien, soit ! Qu'il n'y ait que des indiens comme trustees ! " Qu'est-ce que cela aurait empêché ? Qu'est-ce que cela aurait changé, sinon que le 'capital' aurait été indien ? Mais pour la spiritualité, pour la conduite de son ashram, cela n'aurait rien changé...

to correct what is written in Mani's book about Lee's ashram in Tiruvannamalai, going as far as writing that Yogiji would have said : "My Father has failed !" These are personal notes and the personal feelings of the author are without any importance for the reader; only facts are. As Mani's book is for the public, we were pushed to correct what is said in a public manner. However, we removed from this notes, even if they were in contradiction with his book, what were the real feelings of Mani towards Lee and Americans, as they are personal... Many personal considerations and facts regarding the author have been removed from the notes, as they are personal notes and things could be seen by others as "a self-projection."
2 December Breakfast Darshan (7:00) A number of persons wait at the entrance, and among them Mickael
who thought, perhaps, that he will be allowed to come into the
hut, but: no. ... - Ma Devaki : "Here are some fruits from one of your gardens in France." Father smiles, takes my hand, put the flower in it and, immediately after the answer to the first question, He asks: - Yogiji : And what is the title of the first thing he
has written? Then, suddenly, Father becomes very serious and looks at me right into my eyes, which I make look down, while repeating within: AUM SRI RAM JAI RAM JAI JAI RAM. Then I go back to my seat. He blesses Chelvadorai too. He asks Srinivasan whether he is satisfied with this job in Bangalore. Then, the breakfast. First what remains from the birthday cake. When everybody has received some of it, Yogiji asks to distribute until it is totally finished. The breakfast is served after that. After everybody have washed hands, the talk is brought by Yogiji on the ashram of Lee in Tiruvannamalai... Here is, summarized, what Yogiji says: " It is this beggar who has suggested to Lee the land for the ashram, but this did not come from inside." A little bit later, He will say that he has made the suggestion to Rangarajan and that Rangarajan has jumped on it. " Everybody has known a lot of pain, round trips to
Madras, Delhi, Bombay, etc. by Raghu. When it was clear that
this was not possible, Mr Lee has asked for his money, but it
was not possible to return it to him. Round trips to Delhi, Bombay,
etc... this has taken months! How many, Mani ? Yogiji adds after some time : "We don't want to go before the Court" And several timesYogiji repeats what people have done for this ashram. And, a third time : " This beggar does not want to hear any more about that land, never, never, never. Mr Lee, certainly, will get some facilities to create an ashram in France. Maybe Krishna could help him." (everybody laughs). "We have received a letter from Krishna, saying that he had received a circular asking him for money, and that he has answered that all the money had gone away for Ramnam (at the end of this sentence, He raises His hand, to show the money that goes away, and He smiles)...." Ma Devaki reminds Him that, perhaps, He wants to pass the garlands with which Justice Arunachalam has decorated them. Yogiji gives one to Mani, one to Justice, one to his brother and one to Lee. Then he gives the signal to the women to leave. Then he stands up, tells Mani to stay seated and walks in the hut while blessing us. Then : "Mani, we can go now."
Breakfast Darshan (7:00 am) As Francois, the cameraman, goes back to France tomorrow, Yogiji allows him to come and film in the hut. We tell him that he must stop to shoot when Yogiji has His green napkin on Him. Aum Sri Ram, Ramdas (who, as on purpose, speaks of it...), hibiscus, breakfast, Aum Sri Ram again. Then people go out and, for the movie-camera, Yogiji goes and blesses. Then He stands up without saying anything and goes out alone, even when Mani is near Him. I come out, just behind Him and at this very moment, blessing, i smell the perfume of flowers! Yogiji is near the car. Mani tells Him that Muttu would want to go to the top of the hill and that he asks for the permission. Yogiji answers that it is not necessary and that he must "stay with us". Then the car goes away, I put my arm around Muttu's neck and tell him : "What's the need to go there when the Lord is here?"
Breakfast darshan (07:00am) On the side of men, Mani apart, only Lee and Krishna... Aum Sri Ram, then reading of Swami Ramdas. However we don't go until the end of the chapter. At this passage : " He is everywhere ", Yogiji asks Rajalakshmi to stop, to remember the passage and to put the mark. At the beginning of the reading, i say to myself : "Ah, what an answer today!" The answer is known but it comes when needed: all is He, the slightest move. " His impulses, thoughts, words, everything is God ". We always have to be aware of this. Distribution of the hibiscuses, very fast for Mani and Lee. It is my turn and I go fast to Yogiji's feet.... Then, at a small movement of His head, I know that I have to go back to my seat.. The breakfast takes place immediately after the distribution of the hibiscuses : " We can eat. ". After washing my hands and being the last to do so, he asks the women to go out and only Jayanthi stays, to whom He makes a sign to leave some time later. Only Lee and Krishna are still there.... It is silence. Then i hear : " Krishna ! ". I open my eyes. Yogiji will stand up. I rush like a spring. I help Him to get up. Then He puts his cover in a better way, gives me His hand (the left one) then stands. Lee has put himself on his knees at His feet, at one metre from Him. Yogiji raises His hand towards him... Then i go with Him to the car, my eyes are dimmed. Yogiji stands on the step that has been put to help Him to get in the car, He stops some seconds, then turns His eyes to me. I look at Him, i am nothing. And He puts my hand to His forehead!!! and gets into the car.
Today, the darshan takes place again in the dining hall. People wait as usual: devotees are in the alley along the ashram and the "privileged" are in front of the dining hall. Mani calls Lee. All the Americans rush. As Krishna doesn't move, he calls him. I follow the Americans. Lee is prostrating in the middle, the Americans occupy the first rows. Seeing this, i go to sit in the second row, when Muttu and Yogiji make me a sign to sit in the middle on the mat. So, both Lee and me are in the middle. Aum Sri Ram. I succeed in concentrating and the world goes away. After some time he calls Muttu who goes to Him. I hear the name of Krishna told by Yogiji. And actually Muttu comes to me, pats my shoulder as, as ever, my eyes are closed. I stand up and Yogiji shows me the place to sing. I chant and concentration is really deep! But, at a time, thought comes back and mind begins to rave. Then I try to visualise Yogiji with his percing eyes in order to come back to the right path. After more than half an hour, bang, i receive a lot of flashes in the face. Therefore I tell to myself that, for sure, Lee has been called near Yogiji. And actually, i heard them speaking a little bit. Some time flows, then: " Krishna ! " I stop and turn to my Father. As He seems to make me a sign to go back to my seat, i do the anjali and go to my place. I have made two steps when Ma says : " He is calling you ! " I turn and go to Yogiji, kneeling and in anjali. He takes my hand and pat my shoulder. " Thank you, Krishna. " Then i put my forehead on His knee and the smell of the flowers is immediate. At the end of the blessing, He looks at me with his piercing eyes that i want to see for correcting myself! Then He calls Armstrong's mother and comes the chant of Arunachala Shiva. I feel cleansed and my lips are uttering the mantra by themselves. I remember then the words of Swami Ramdas this morning: we must feel that it is God who makes make the slightest movement. Yogiji lights a new Charminar. Perhaps He will get up soon and bless the audience, as He was doing before the arrival of the Americans ? No. Two books 'Souvenir' are brought and the camerama Francois Fronty is called. He is especially blessed as he goes back to France after the darshan and he receives a portion of the banana bunch from Yogiji's hands along with three other fruits. And he offers a cake to Yogiji. Then some other persons are called, then a swami to whom Ma Devaki asks in Hindi: " Apka nam ? ". Then Yogiji asks Sudama sisters to sing a song, then he calls both Lee and me. He gives an apple to Lee, raises His hands to bless him and says : "My Father blesses you!" Then Yogiji takes my hands that i stretch out to receive the apple. He takes my right hand and, three times, He puts the apple in it without leaving it, then He removes it, puts it again ... and leaves it at the third time while taking both my hands and saying while smiling : " My Father blesses you ! " He throws once again His piercing look at me through His glasses. Then soon come the Mangalams and Yogiji goes out, giving His hand to Mani. ...

Breakfast darshan (07:00 am).- At 07:00, I go to Kannan who apologizes because he was unable to come yesterday. He tells me that he has not finished the speech and that he will give me the text at 9:00 when i will go out for getting flowers to decorate Yogiji. Krishna and Lee follow the car at distance. At about the level of the dining hall, Yogiji tells Mani to ask the two French to come. Nearly everything is recorded in the recorder that i turn on again surreptitiously. Once seated, Ma Devaki asks Yogiji whether he wants to read Lee's letter. Yogiji's reaction is like one of a lion. "There is no question to speak of this land." What is recorded is hardly audible. He says that their money, in whatever manner, must be given back to them. Then He says : "My Father does not want! And what my Father does not want, we must not do it. This beggar does not want. This beggar does not want." After some silence, He turns to Ma Devaki and says some words ... Then: - " Krishna ! ". I come close to Yogiji and i am, as usual, on my knees and in anjali before Him. Ma Devaki gives Him a plastic bag that contains things. " Clothes from this beggar. A set. He wants you to wear them." Then Yogiji speaks again about this Lee's ashram. In the recording, it is possible to hear some parts. Time would be needed to understand everything. Here are the parts: - Mani : ..... Saturday morning, ... Mr Lee has to depart
for Madras ... Yogi turns to Rajalakshmi : " Aum Sri Ram ". Aum Sri Ram is sung. Seven times again, during the chant, Yogiji will speak, however Rajalakshmi will not stop chanting but rarely. - My Father does not want .......... We are not going to .... The chanting covers the voice and it is not possible to understand. The second time He speaks, it is just possible to hear, from the tape: " .... No question ... ". The third time: " No question of ..... very sorry for all that....... My Father.... ". The fourth time: " ...... this beggar... All is the (fault of) this beggar........ the ashram ... only ... been unable to purchase it. " This time the chanting is lower since some time.
