J'offre mes sashtanga pranams aux pieds lotus de Yogi Ramsuratkumar. À cette époque, j'allais à Tiruvannamalai avec mes parents et ma femme pouravoir le darshan de Yogi Ramsuratkumar, dont la connaissance avait été amorcée pour nous par feu Sivarama Krishna Iyer, l'un des administrateurs du Gnanananda Tapovanam. Il était lui-même était un fidèle du Yogi.

Lors d'une de ces visites, Sivarama Krishna Iyer informa Yogi que j'étais un grand admirateur de J. Krishnamurthy. C'était un philosophe très populaire à cette époque et il était suivi dans le monde entier. Mais selon moi, c'était un Brahma Jnani. En entendant cela de Sivarama Krishna Iyer, Yogiji me demanda si j'avais rencontré J. Krishnamurthi. Je lui dis que j'allais à Chennai tous les ans, quand J.K. y venait pour faire des discours. Il a un jour discuté avec moi des habitudes de J.K du matin au soir. Quand j'ai parlé à Yogi de son habitude de faire de longues promenades, Yogi m'a demandé de le montrer. J'ai marché devant Yogi en imitant J.K. Puis Yogi m'a demandé de dire en quelques mots quel était l'enseignement de base de J.K. J'ai répondu en disant que J.K a toujours insisté sur le fait que la "Vérité" se révélait d'elle-même et que tout le monde pouvait la voir ; mais que le mental, avec ses souvenirs accumulés, agissait comme un écran qui empêchait la perception. Que si cela est compris, tous les problèmes étaient résolus avec la véritable réalisation véritable de la Vérité. Après avoir fini, Yogi m'a demandé de répéter ce que j'avais raconté. En répétant ce que j'avais déjà dit, j'ai apporté une petite correction à ma déclaration précédente. La correction concernait l'aspect de la compréhension. J'ai alors précisé que si le fait que le mental avec ses souvenirs agissait comme un écran était compris non seulement intellectuellement mais effectivement, la réalisation aurait lieu. En entendant cela, le visage de Yogi a brillé d'une étincelle d'appréciation et Il m'a alors demandé si j'accepterais le prasad venant de Lui. Je suis tombé à ses pieds avec des sashtanga pranams. Un autre fidèle avait offert un paquet de lait peda à Sa Sainteté Yogi. Yogi a ouvert un paquet de ce lait peda et l'a séparé en deux moitiés. Yogi a mis une moitié dans sa bouche et Il m'a offert l'autre moitié comme Prasad en remerciement de ma réponse. J'ai considéré comme une grande bénédiction que Yogi m'ait offert l'uchchishtam et je savais que cela me guiderait plus loin sur le chemin de la réalisation de soi.

À l'époque, nous vivions à Madurai et nous allions souvent au Gnananda Tapovanam. C'est ainsi que nous avons fait la connaissance de feu Sivarama Krishna Iyer. Un jour, j'ai entendu la sonnette chez moi à Madurai. Quand je suis allé voir qui sonnait, j'ai vu Sivarama Krishna Iyer debout à la porte. Je l'ai reçu avec chaleur et, après la toilette du matin et le petit-déjeuner, nous nous sommes assis pour discuter. Mais Sivarama Krishna Iyer m'a déséquilibré lorsqu'il a révélé le but de sa visite. Lors de l'une de ses visites à Tiruvannamalai pour y avoir le darshan de Yogi, Yogi avait demandé si Sivarama Krishna Iyer avait lu des livres ayant trait aux enseignements de J. Krishnamurthi. La réponse avait été négative car Sivarama Krishna Iyer n'avait pas été exposé à J.K ni à ses enseignements. Yogi lui a conseillé de lire un livre sur J.K. Il avait donc décidé de me rendre visite à Madurai, sachant que je possédais de nombreux livres sur les enseignements de J.K. Le conseil de Yogi m'a profondément touché. J'ai donné le livre intitulé " Libération du Connu ", un petit ouvrage donnant l'essentiel de ses enseignements. Cela a été une révélation pour Sivarama Krishna lyer. J'ai considéré comme une bénédiction d'avoir contribué à la réalisation des voeux de Yogi et de Sivarama Krishna Iyer. Yogi tenait J.K. en haute estime.

En une autre occasion, alors que j'étais assis en présence de Yogi au Thermutti et que je chantais le nom sacré Yogi Ramsuratkumar en choeur avec d'autres, je me suis dit que je me considérerais comme béni si je pouvais recevoir un exemplaire d'une photographie de Sa Sainteté Yogi Ramsuratkumar offerte par Yogi Lui-même. Un moment après, un monsieur est arivé pour avoir le darshan avec une couverture et quelques fruits et il les a posés devant Sa Sainteté Yogi. Lorsque Yogi nous a demandé de partir, Il a ouvert la couverture que ce monsieur avait offerte, a sorti des photos de petite taille de Lui et Il a remis à chacun d'entre nous une photo avec Ses bénédictions. Que pourrais-je demander de plus ?

Lors d'une autre occasion, lorsque je suis allé pour le darshan de Yogi avec mes parents et ma belle-mère, Il nous a ordonné de nous asseoir de manière à ce que ma belle-mère soit assise loin de nous. J'avais avec moi un projet de maison que je construirais à Chennai. Je voulais en demander la bénédiction de Yogi. Yogi s'est allongé un moment, la plante des pieds tournée vers nous. Après quelque temps, Il s'est levé et nous a demandé de partir après avoir donné des fruits à nous tous. Mais à mon père, à moi-même et à ma femme Jayalakshmi, Il a donné un citron. A ce moment-là, j'ai exprimé mon désir de recevoir une bénédiction pour la construction de ma maison. Il m'a pris le plan de la maison de moi et, le mettant sur sa tête, Il a prononcé le mot "Construire". Ce n'est que plus tard que j'ai compris qu'avant même de faire connaître mon intention, il nous avait bénis en sachant déjà quel était le but de ma visite. Pour la première fois de notre vécu avec Lui, il nous a offert des fruits des citrons que, dans la tradition indienne, on ne donne que pour des projets à mener à bien. Pour ma belle-mère qui nous accompagnait, Il a comme d'habitude donné un fruit mais pas de citron car elle appartenait à une autre famille. Son omniscience était démontrée.

Lors d'une autre occasion, alors ma femme était affectée d'un thymome suspect, un développement du thymus qui presse sur le cœur, nous sommes allés de Madurai à l'hôpital Apollo de Chennai pour une chirurgie. Sur le chemin, j'ai cherché à recevoir les bénédictions de Sa Sainteté Yogi. Ma femme se sentait très fatiguée même après un petit effort. Elle transpirait souvent en ayant soif. Une soif inextinguible. Les médecins avaient eu du mal à faire le diagnostic à Madurai. Enfin, un examen par IRM a révélé la cause probable du thymome. Yogi m'a demandé d'aller chercher une noix de coco tendre au marché pour qu'Il puisse boire. Il a bu l'eau de coco en s'exclamant qu'Il buvait pour étancher la soif de ma femme Jayalakshmi. Il l'a bénie pour que tout se passe bien. Après l'opération, la tumeur s'est avérée bénigne, puisqu'Il avait béni. C'est toute Sa grâce.

Une autre fois, un couple s'est adressé à Sa Sainteté pour un problème lié à l'ivresse du chef de la famille, le père du mari. Le nom du père était tel que la première moitié du nom pouvait être prononcée de deux manières différentes. Dans une prononciation il signifiait femme et, prononcé différemment, il voulait dire vin (alcool). Mais on l'appelait par ce genre de référence qui signifie seulement femme. Sa Sainteté a demandé pourquoi ils n'avaient pas amené un aîné comme ils le faisaient souvent et Il a demandé au monsieur de dire quel était le nom de son père. Le monsieur l'a prononcé de la manière habituelle, comme on l'appelait et comme on lui parlait en société. Après avoir entendu cela, Yogi l'a immédiatement prononcé dans le sens opposé d'alcool et Il s'est mit à rire. La maîtrise d soi du couple a reçu un choc du fait que la manière dont Yogi prononçait faisait indirectement référence à l'habitude d'ivresse, problème pour lequel ils étaient venus. Yogi avait déjà su la raison de leur visite. C'est une autre occasion lors de laquelle Il a fait connaître Son omniscience.

I offer my sashtanga pranams at the lotus feet of Yogi Ramsuratkumar. I used to visit Thiruvannamalai in those days with my parents and wife to have the darshan of Yogi Ramsuratkumar, whose acquaintance was initiated for us by the late Sivarama Krishna Iyer, one of the trustees of Gnanananda Tapovanam. He himself was a devotee of the Yogi.

During one such visit Sivarama Krishna Iyer informed Yogi that I was a great admirer of J. Krishnamurthy. He was a very popular philosopher in those days with world-wide following. But according to me he was a Brahma Gnani. On hearing this from Sivarama Krishna Iyer Yogiji asked me whether I had met J. Krishnamurthi. I told him that I used to go to Chennai every year when J.K would come there to deliver talks. He discussed the routine of J.K with me in a day from morning to night. When I mentioned to Yogi about his habit of taking long walks Yogi asked me to demonstrate that. I walked before Yogi imitating the manner of J.K. Then Yogi asked me to recount in a nutshell the basic teaching of J.K. I responded by saying that J.K always stressed the fact that 'Truth' was self-effulgent for all to see. But mind with its accumulated memories acted as a screen preventing perception. If this is understood all problems are solved with true realization of Truth. After I finished Yogi asked me to repeat what I recounted. Now while repeating what I earlier conveyed I made a small correction to my earlier statement. The correction was regarding the aspect of understanding. So I clarified that if the fact of the mind with memories acting as a screen was understood not merely intellectually but actually realization would dawn. On hearing this Yogi's face shone with the spark of appreciation and then He asked me whether I would accept prasad from Him. I fell at His feet offering sashtanga pranams. Some other devotee had offered a packet of milk peda to His Holiness Yogi. Yogi opened one packet of that milk peda and split it into two halves. Yogi put one half into His mouth and offered the other half to me as his Prasad in appreciation of my answer. I considered it as a great blessing that Yogi offered the uchchishtam to me and I knew that it would further guide me on the path of self-realisation.

We were at that time living at Madurai and used to visit Gnanananda Tapovanam often and that was how we became acquainted with late Sivarama Krishna Iyer. On one occasion I heard the calling bell ringing in my house at Madurai. When I went to see who the caller was I saw Sivarama Krishna Iyer standing at the door. I received him with all warmth, and after morning bath and breakfast we sat down to chat. But Sivarama Krishna Iyer threw me off balance when he revealed the purpose of his visit. During one of his visits to Tiruvannamalai to have darshan of Yogi, Yogi had enquired whether at any point of time Sivarama Krishna Iyer had read any of the books relating to the teachings of J. Krishnamurthi. The reply was negative as Sivarama Krishna Iyer was not exposed to J.K or his teachings. Yogi had advised him to read some book dealing with J.K. So he had decided to visit me at Madurai knowing that I possessed many books on the teachings of J.K. I was deeply moved by Yogi's advice. I gave the book titled "Freedom From The Known" a small work giving the gist of his teachings. It was a bit of a revelation for Sivarama Krishna lyer. I considered it a blessing that I had been instrumental in fulfilling the wishes of both Yogi and Sivarama Krishna Iyer. Yogi had high regard for J.K.

On another occasion when I was seated in the presence of Yogi at The Thermutti and chanting the holy name Yogi Ramsuratkumar in chorus with others a thought occurred to me that I would consider myself blessed if I could be blessed with a copy of a photograph of His Holiness Yogi Ramsuratkumar by Yogi Himself. After sometime a gentleman came for darshan with a cover and some fruits and placed them before His Holiness Yogi. As Yogi asked us to leave, He opened the cover offered by that gentleman and took out small size photos of Himself and handed over to each of us one photo with His blessings. What more could I ask for.

On another occasion when I came for Yogi's darshan with my parents and mother-in-law He ordered us to be seated in such a way that my mother-in-law was seated away from us. I had with me a plan of a house to be constructed by me at Chennai. I wanted to seek Yogi's blessings for that. Yogi lay down for sometime with the sole of his feet pointed towards us. After sometime He got up and asked us to leave after distributing fruits to all of us. But to my father and me and to my wife Jayalakshmi He gave a lemon fruit each. At that time I expressed my desire of getting a blessing for my house construction. He took the house plan from me and placing it on His head uttered the word
"Construct". Only later on it dawned on me that even before I made my intention known He had blessed us knowing already the purpose of my visit. For the first time in our experience He gave us lemon fruit which in Indian tradition is given only for projects to be completed without impediments. For my mother-in-law who accompanied us, He gave a fruit as usual but not lemon as she belongs to a different family. His omniscience was demonstrated.

On another occasion when my wife was affected with a suspected thymoma, a growth of the thymus gland pressing on the heart, we were proceeding from Madurai to Chennai Apollo Hospital for surgery. On the way I sought the blessings of His Holiness Yogi. My wife used to feel very tired even after small exertion. She used to sweat profussly frequently feeling thirsty. Unquenchable thirst. Doctors had a tough time to diagnose in Madurai. Finally an MRI scan showed the probable cause as thymoma. Yogi asked me to get a tender coconut from the market for him to drink. He drank the coconut water exclaiming that He was drinking to quench my wife Jayalakshmi's thirst. He blessed her to be alright. After surgery the tumor turned out to be benign, as He had blessed. All His Grace.

On another occasion a couple approached His Holiness for a problem connected with the drunkenness of the head of the family, the husband's father. The name of the father was such that the first half of the name can he pronounced in two different ways. In one pronunciation it would mean a woman and if pronounced differently it would mean wine (alcohol). But he was called by that kind of reference that means only a woman. His Holiness enquired why they had not brought along elder person as they used to do often and asked the gentleman to give the name of his father. The gentleman pronounced it in the normal way as he was named and being addressed in society. After hearing that, Yogi immediately pronounced it the other way that has reference to alcohol, and laughed. The couple was jolted out of their composure as the way Yogi pronounced it referred indirectly to the habit a drunkenness for which problem they had come. Yogi had already known the reason of their visit. This is another occasion He made known his omniscience.
