The smile was beautiful, ne a flower in full bloom. As I looked
at the photograph in 'The Mountain Path' I could feel joy pouring
out. The radiant infections smile captivated me. Shri V. Ganesan
had described his expErience with Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar, and
I felt that I now had an opportunity to have darshan of a saint.
Some months later my family and I went to Tiruvannamalai from
Delhi. Armed with an introduction from Shri V. Ganesan we had
the good fortune of having darshan of Yogiji. When the tum came
of our one year old son,Yogiji blessed him, with a long life.
It was only a few months earlier that our son had suffered a very
severe attack of asthmatie bronchites. All of a sudden in the
middle of the night he started gasping. In the hospital the Doctor
had to give him four injections at once, attach an intravenous
line and start oxygen. After a week in the hospital he became
alright. But that night was one of the most terrible nights we
had to endure, and it was only by the grace of God that everything
became okay. So when we heard the blessings from Yogiji it eased
the anxiety in our hearts.
Yes we also witnessed the smile we had seen in the photographe
When Yogiji smiles a radiant joy envelops the atmosphère
like the full moon shining in a cloudy night. His laughter is
even more exhilarating. A belly shaking, roaring rapturous j oyous
laughter. I also witnessed his anger, making me tremble like a
dry leaf in a dark storm. I prayed to God, pLease let me not do
anything to make him angry. Then I remembered something I had
read earlier. They say that a saint showers his blessings in everything
he does. When he is angry he bestows his grace even more pointedly.
A disciple of Maharishi Ramana had written, that sometimes they
used to play some pranks on the Master in the hope that he would
get angry with them, and thereby, bestow grace even more in anger.
It is the smile that remains in the memory. Yogiji your smile
is a sight for depressed hearts.
