Si nous commençons n'importe quel travail en invoquant Swamiji, Il sera avec nous sous une forme ou sous une autre pour nous accorder Sa Grâce. Il a dit que si deux amis ou plus se rassemblaient et partageaient leurs expériences avec Swamiji, Il serait présent avec eux à cet endroit-là. Je voudrais partager un petit incident de ma vie avec vous qui attestera de la vérité de ce qui est dit ci-dessus.

Alors qu'en 1981 je travaillais à Tiruvannamalai, j'avais acheté un site pour une maison dans un endroit appelé Pammal près de Chennai. Je fixai une date auspicieuse pour faire la Bhumi Puja avant de commencer la construction et j'en informai Swamiji. Ma femme avait accouché de ma seconde fille, Lakshmi, tout juste deux mois auparavant et elle était chez ses parents à Nagapattinam. Mon beau-père était venu àTiruvannamalai un jour avant afin d'être présent à la Bhumi puja. Je l'emmenai voir Swamiji. Je recherchai les bénédictions de Swamiji pour l'accomplissement auspicieux de la Bhumi puja et ensuite pour la construction réussie de la maison. J'avais en outre amené une petite boîte pur y mettre de l'argent pour les dépenses de la construction que je plaçai aux pieds de Swamiji et je me prosternai devant Lui. Immédiatement, Swamiji ouvrit la boîte de Ses mains bénies, et il bénit mon beau-père et moi-même pour notre voyage à Chennai. Je me rendis à Chennai, profondément touché de la grande gentillesse de Swamiji.

Le lendemain, mon frère s'était arrangé pour trouver un shastri pour accomplir la Ganapati Puja à la Bhumi puja. Mon frère aîné et sa femme firent la Ganapati puja tandis que le frère qui résidait à Pammal, sa femme et mon beau-père participaient à la cérémonie. L'entrepreneur engagé pour la construction et ses hommes étaient avec nous. Seules quelques maisons avaient été construites près du site de ma maison, tous les autres sites étaient vides et présentaient l'apparence d'un champ immense.

Alors que la Ganapati puja avait lieu, un jeune veau arriva soudain en bondissant sur le site de la maison. Il regarda calmement la Ganapati puja qui dura encore dix minutes. En général, les veaux qui n'ont qu'un mois ne restent pas tranquilles en un seul endroit mais courent ici et là. Dès l'arrivée du veau, je me sentis heureux que Swamiji fût venu; je mettais de la pâte de curcuma et du kumkum sur son front et lui donnai un plantain. La Ganapati puja était terminée. Immédiatement, le surveillant de la construction creusa une petite fosse dans le coin sud-est et fit la Bhumipuja. Le jeune veau se tint tranquille, spectateur de cette Bhumi puja aussi et après la fin de la uja, il descendit dans la fosse, y mettant d'abord son pied droit, puis il but de l'eau dans la fosse. Ensuite il quitta tranquillement le site de la maison, et se mit soudain à partir en courant et il disparut.

A cette époque j'eus des difficultés à obtenir du ciment pour lequel il y avait un système de permis du fait d'un manque cruel de ciment, et c'est pourquoi les travaux de construction prirent plus d'une demi-année. Alors que la construction progressait, je fus transféré de Tiruvannamalai en un endroit appelé Pundi près de Chennai et je dus m'y rendre. Quand la construction fut terminée, j'avais fixé le 1er novembre 1982 comme date pour la cérémonie du Grahapravesam et j'en avais informé Swamiji par lettre. J'avais eu en outre le darshan de Swamiji. Une semaine avant le Grahapravesam je vins avec ma famille pour soumettre la première invitation à Swamiji et je recherchai Ses bénédictions pour la cérémonie. La santé de Swamji était alors un peut indifférente. Shri Gajaraj se trouvait avec Swamiji et l'aidait. Il informa Swamiji de mon arrivée. Swamiji nous appela immédiatement. Nous passâmes quelques minutes avec Swamiji. Shri Gajaraj demeurait chez un des ses amis. Swamiji nous demanda de rester aussi avec la famille de Shri Gajaraj. Swamiji me permit de rester avec Lui du matin jusqu'au soir.

Trois jours après, Il me demanda de venir avec ma famille et posa des questions sur les détails du Grahapravesam qui devait être fait. Je soumis l'invitation et la lui lus. Il nous donna une photo encadrée de Lui et nous bénit pour un heureux accomplissement du Grahapravesam. Alors que nous prenions congé de Swamiji, ma femme demanda que Swamiji honore cette occasion. Swamiji répondit immédiatement : "Je viendrai, Amma." Nous partîmes de bon coeur pour Chennai pour participer aux arrangements pour la cérémonie.

Je m'étais arrangé pour avoir une vache et un veau pour faire la Lakshmi puja qui fait partie du Grahapravesam. Le jour du Grahapravesam, je pris la photo de Swamiji qu'il avait offert et ma femme prit le pot d'eau et nous sortîmes avec nos parents de la maison de mon frère qui était proche. La vache et le veau se tenaient avec leur propriétaire à l'entrée de la nouvelle maison. Quand nous commençâmes à faire la Lakshmi puja à la vache et au veau, une vache de couleur crème apparu soudain sur la scène et se tint devant la vache à laquelle la puja était faite. Nous ressentîmes que Swamiji Lui-même était venu sousl a forme d'une vache et qu'il lui faisait aussi la puja. Après la fin de la puja, la nouvelle vache e rangea de côté et permit à l'autre vache et au veau d'entrer dans la maison. J'étais littéralement réduit en larmes de bonheur, pensant que Swamiji qui avait dit qu'il viendrait à la cérémonie était venu sous la forme d'une vache et qu'il nous bénissait. Cela me prit du temps pour sécher mes larmes. Quand on accomplit le homam à l'intérieur de la maison, la vache fit trois fois le tour de la maison, chaque fois meuglant bruyammment après chaque pradakshina ! Par la suite cette vache quitta l'endroit. Cela nous procura un grand bonheur que Bhagavan soit venu sous la forme d'un veau pour la Bhumi puja et qu'il soit venu maintenant sous la forme d'une vache au moment du Grahapravesam. J'informais Swamiji de cet incident après le Grahapravesam. Quand j'eus Son darshan peu de temps après, je lui racontai une nouvelle fois. Il écouta tout calmement et dit : "Tout est la Lila de Père."

Sept ans après cet épisode, après avoir été transféré à Chennai et avoir commencé à habiter la nouvelle maison, je suis venu à Tiruvannamalai pour avoir le darshan de Swamiji. Il me présenta alors un tableau peint par un ami d'un pays étranger. Dans ce tableau il y avait une vache et un veau avec Sri Krishna qui jouait de la flûte en face de la vache.

La couleur de la vache du tableau était exactement la même que la vache qui était venue à la cérémonie. C'était comme si Swamiji confirmait qu'Il était Lui-même le vedauqui était présent à la Bhumi puja, la vache couleur crème qui avait participé au Grahapravesam et Lui-même Krishna jouant de la flûte. Le fait qu'il ait donné ce tableau plusieurs années après le Grahapravesam, alors même que je commençais à habiter ma propre maison, renforça notre foi selon laquelle Swamiji était ainsi venu bénir la cérémonie de la Bhumi Puja et le Grahapravesam. Maintenant même le tableau orne notre Puja room.

C'est une certitude que Swamiji est toujours avec nous si nous accomplissons n'importe quelle tâche avec la foi que Swamiji est avec nous. Swamiji disait souvent que la Foi était plus grande que Dieu. Il avait l'habitude de dire que la foi devait être immuable, inébranlable comme une colline.

If we begin any work invoking Swamiji, He would be with us in some form and bestow His Grace on us. He has said that if two or more friends gather and share their experiences of Swamiji, He would be present with them at that place. I would like to share a small incident in my life with you, which will attest the above.

When I was working at Tiruvannamalai in 1981, I had purchased a house site at a place called Pammal near Chennai. I fixed an auspicious date for doing Bhumi Puhja before commencing the construction and informed Swamiji about this. My wife had delivered my second daughter Lakshmi just a couple of months earlier and was in her parent's house at Nagapattinam. My father-in-law had come to Tiruvannamalai a day earlier in order to attend the Bhumi Puja. I took him to Swamiji. I sought Swamiji's blessings for the auspicious conduct of the Bhumi Puja and the subsequent construction of the house in a successfull manner. Moreover, I had carried a small box of money for the construction expenses which I placed at Swamiji's feet and prostrated before Him. Swamiji immediately opened the money box, and taking a rupee coin from the pocket of His shirt, placed it in the box with his holy hands, and blessed my father-in-law and myself for our journey to Chennai. I travelled to Chennai, deeply moved by Swamiji's great kindness.

The next day, my brother had arranged for a shastri to perform the Ganapati Puja at the Bhumi puja. My elder brother and his wife did the Ganapati puja while the brother residing at Pammal, his wife and my father-in-law attended the ceremony. The contractor engaged for the construction and his men were with us. Only a few houses had been constructed near my house site, all the other house sites were empty and presented and appeearance of huge field.

When the Ganapati Puja was in progress, suddenly a white male calf came bounding into the house site. It quietly watched the Ganapati puja which lasted for the next ten minutes. Generally calves which are only a month old would not stand still in one place but would be running about. As soon as the calf came, I felt happy that Swamiji had come; I applied turmeric paste and Kumkum on his forehead and gave him a plantain. Ganapati puja was over. Immediately the supervisor for the construction dug a small pit in the South East corner and did the Bhumipuja. The young calf stood quietly witnessing this Bhumi puja also and after the puja was over, he went down the pit, placing his right foot first, and then drank the water in the pit. He then quietly left the house site, and suddenly ran away and disappeared.

There were only a few houses in that place and there were no cows in any of them. I was deeply moved to think that Swamiji himself had come in the form of a young rishaba (a bull) and had blessed the proposed construction. I stayed for a week supervising the work of the foundation and returned to Tiruvannamalai. I narrated this event to Swamiji who said, "All Father's Grace."

During the period I had difficulty in procuring cement for which there was az permit system due to severe shortage of cement and therefore the construction work took more than 1/2 year. When the construction was in progress I was transferred from Tiruvannamalai to a place called Pundi near Chennai and I had to go there. When the construction was over I had fixed the 1st November 1982 as the date for the Grahapravesam ceremony and informed this to Swamiji through a letter. Further I had darshan of Swamiji. A week before the Grahapravesam I went with my family to submit the first invitation to Swamiji and seek His blessings for the function. Swamiji's health was a little indifferent at that time. Shri Gajaraj was with Swamiji rendering some help to Him. He informed Swamiji of my arrival. Swamiji immediately called us. We spent a few minutes with Swamiji. Shri Gajaraj with this family was staying at the house of a friend of his. Swamiji asked us also to stay with the family of Shri Gajaraj. Swamiji permitted me to stay with Him from morning till evening.

Three days later, he asked me to come with my family and enquired about the details of the Grahapravesam to be performed. I submitted the invitation and read it to him. He bestowed a framed picture of His on us and blessed for the succeszsful performance of the Grahapravesam. When we were taking leave of Swamiji, my wife requested that Swamiji should grace the occasion. Swamiji immediately responded "I will come, Amma". We happily left for Chennai to attend to the arrangement for the function.

I had arranged for a cow with calf to do the Lakshmi puja whichis part of the Grahapravesam. On the day of Grahapravesam I took Swamiji's picture given by him and my wife carried the water pot and we set out with our relatives from the house of my brother which was nearby. The cow and calf were standing with their owner at the entrance of the new house. When we started doing the Lakshmi puja to the cow and calf, a cream coloured cow suddenly appeared on the scene and stood before the cow to which puja was being performed. We felt that Swamiji Himself had come in the form of a cow and did puja to her also. After the puja was over, the new cow moved over and allowed the other cow and calf to enter the house. I was litterally reduced to tears of happiness thinking that Swamiji who has said that He would come to the function had come in the form of a cow and blessed us. It took me a long time to suppress my tears. When the homam was being performed inside the house, this cow went round the house three times each time mowing loudly after completing each pradakshina! Thereafter this cow left the place. It gave us great happiness that Bhagavan shoud have come in the form of a calf fot the Bhumi puja and now in the form of a cow at the time of Grahapravesam. I informed Swamiji of this incident after the Grahapravesam. When I had darshan of Him soon afterwards, I again narrated this to Him. He listened to everything calmly and said, "All Father's Lila."

Seven years after this incident, after I had been transferred to Chennai and had started residing in the new house, I came to Tiruvannamalai to have darshan of Swamiji. He then presented me with a picture painted by a friend from a foreing land. In this picture there was a cow and a calf with Sri Krishna playing the flute standing in front of the cow.

The colour of the cow in the picture was exactly the same as the cow which had attended the function. It was as if Swamiji was confirming that He was Himself the calf which attended the Bhumi puja, the cream coloured cow attending the Grahapravesam and Himself the flute playing Krishna. The fact that He was handing over this picture many years after the Grahapravesam, just when I started residing at my own house, strenghterned our faith that Swamiji had thus blessed the function of Bhumi Puja and Grahapravesam. Even now the picture adorns our Puja room.

It is a certainty that Swamiji is always with us if we perform any task with the faith that Swamiji is with us. Swamiji frequently used to say that Faith is greater than God. He used to say that the faith should be immovable, unshakable like a hill.
