Mes expériences avec le "Maître"

My experiences with the "Master"

(… suite)

Cela me rappelle son sloka Sanskrit : "Vane Rane, Sathur Jala Agni, Madhyame......."

A suivre

(… continued)

My experience with Sri Swamiji can be categorised as follows:

1. Mundane
2. Spiritual

The grace of Sri Swamiji to our family is replete without any reservation. This is felt even to this day every living second.

Sri Swamiji used to a that "SHRADDHA" our devoted single-mindedness can do wonders, if one surrenders to Master in TOTALITY - unconditionally, one is given protection in mundane and spiritual life without any doubt.

During my stay at Tiruvannamalai and even after that till this moment Sri Swamiji gives us physical and mental strength to bear any circumstances. He leads us like a father holding our hand in the midst of happenings in the strange world full of problems. In his own words, "You will be protected like that of the green tree by its bark." There is no doubt about it. You have to surrender yourself without any reservation. There are many episodes that are still green in my memory which time cannot destroy. They are so indelible and everlasting.

One such episode happened when I was working in Tiruvannamalai Division. I had jurisdiction in the "Jawathu Hills." It was drought time. Water scarcity was so acute. In order to provide drinking water we had to resort to digging wells in the Hill area, as the rigs could not have access. In one village, Jamana Maruthur, the dug well was in progress measuring 20' depth. The soil was rockey. I went for inspection with the block staff. The road inspector Sri
Kuppuswamy who came forward to measure the depth of the well with a measuring tape was wearing rubber chappals. As soon as he placed his feet on the gravel he slipped. He had almost reached the brink of the wall (ground level). In his attempt to escape from falling into the well he turned round facing us. But this only accelerated the speed of falling. He lost balance. The disposition was so dangerous but no one could go near him and help him out of the situation. Every one stood with open mouth, "Ah." Myself not knowing what to do simply called out "GURUNATHA" in utter helplessness. An unknown "DIVINE FORCE" stopped Sri Kuppuswamy who was about to fall into the open Well on his back, and he walked up the distance and came to us safely. It was really miraculous. There is no explanation as to how it happened. When asked he said that he was dragged out by an unknown, unseen force and he simply came with great ease without any effort on his part. It was only the "Grace of Master" that saved the man from his fall to death in an open well. On returning to head quarters I narrated this episode and how Sri Swamiji saved the man from the jaws of death. Sri Swamiji smiled and laughted loudly in his amicable manner.

EPISODE - II

This episode also happened in Tiruvannamalai division in the same, 'Jawadhu Hills.' But the site of the occurrence was in another block area some kilometers away.

One day I received a petition from the public that someone Was conducting unauthorised shandy in this hill area in Polur block area. Usually such shandy (weekly) should be started only after completing many formalities and with prior permission of the authorities concerned. I went for spot inspection in the block jeep. Myself, the block social education officer and only the jeep driver were with us. It was dark and cloudy. While proceeding in the ghat road on the way back, we were blocked by the falling of a big tree due to a landslide, an usual teature in hill area after a downpour of rain. It so happened that there was no room left for our jeep to pass. We got down from the vehicle, and just stood inspecting the spot. The tree that was lying was a huge one. Added to it there was at least 5/6 lorry loads of earth heaped on it. Even with all men and material like axe mammutti, knife, etc., it would take at least 5 - 6 hours to clear that. It was getting dark. I had to return to my camp head quarter at Jamna Maruthur before 8.00 p.m. to attend an urgent meeting of Panchayat Presidents and villagers regarding the drought condition, supply of drinking water to villagers, etc.

At that juncture one villager - tribal - was coming in a cycle from the other side, a rare sight in hilly place with ups and downs. On seeing the roadblock he stopped and asked what was the problem. I said that it was self explanatory that we cannot proceed on our journey and reach our destination. But to our ill luck the road block was delaying our journey. The tribal man went to the other side and stood before the branches of the tree where it was buried. He simply pulled the huge tree single handed as if he was "Bheemasena in Mahabharatha" or Hercules in the Greek lore. The whole lot moved off slowly and he cleared the way to enable our vehicle to pass - with no help at all! The huge tree with heaps of earth on it was simply set aside, a task which could never be dreamt of even with the help of 20 strong able bodied persons and with all accessories. The vehicle passed the point. Suddenly the villager left the hold. The tree came to its former position. Then he simply took his cycle and was about to go.

We thanked him for his unexpected and valuable help. But he simply smiled. We watched him sitting on his bike. He would have gone just 10 feet. We could see him riding his cycle. And then he simply vanished into thin air. Sri Swamiji has thus helped us to get out of this difficult situation to enable us to do our work. Such is the kindness of our Master.

On returning to the head quarters I narrated this episode to Sri Swamiji for which he simply laughed loudly in his own inimitable manner.

This reminds me of his Sanskrit sloka "Vane Rane, Sathur Jala Agni, Madhyame......." The
remembrance of Master's name helps to work out Karma and to discharge our legitimate duties Without any hindrance.

EPISODE - III

This episode happened on the Maha Sivarathri day - a day very auspicious for those who worship Lord Siva. There is a hillock called, "Parvatha Malai" near Kadaladi village in Tiruvannamalai division. The local people who were known to me invited me to visit this holy place at the bottom of the hill in a vehicle [my car) and from there we had to climb up nearly 750' to 800'. At some place the climb was so steep that one would feel giddy if not accustomed to such experiences. There is a place called "Ladder Climb" a steep stretch where we lost hopes of climbing further. There were peg like remains of the crow bars ?xed to climb up which had been stolen by miscreants, leaving back very small toe holds.

We were about to return, when my wife said that by the Grace of our Master we could accomplish this. S0 we did it and reached the height where we had good breeze, good drinking water form the natural spring. Above all we had the rare darshan of Lord Shiva and Parvati. We spent the whole night there and climbed down only the next morning.
We could achieve this only by the Grace of my Master who though not physically present with us was helping us to overcome every hurdle by the remembrance of his Holy name.
On return to the head quarters I narrated this episode to Sri Samiji and he laughed and blessed us.

-to be continued.
